Mary Of Egypt

                                    MARY OF EGYPT

                                    Tawny, parched, with matted hair,

This is Mary the desert lion

Stretching her bones across a rock.

Our Mother Isis says to her

"I too am Mary.  Christ was my son."

This was written 15 years ago. It sort of relates to the last post

Will you just put a book together already? I want to show these to more and more people.

Believe me, I've tried. There was a time when I was getting published in magazines quite a bit, but I never had the ambition or energy to really push.

If you'd like I could send you the "collected works" in an email attachment. I do feel a sort of duty to spread them around.

I would like that very much.

Certainly. I'll send you a copy.

Wow. I love this poem.

I'm an ex-Catholic, and I now work with Isis a lot. I've always experienced her as having the same basic pattern of energies as Mary. Glad I'm not the only one.

I wrote this around the time I was moving from Christianity into Paganism- and making the connections.
