But, tell you what- if just one story about ghosts or aliens is true then we don't live in a prison house after all.

And that's why I care about this silly stuff. I'm looking for a chink in the walls that Darwin and Huxley and all that crew have built up around us.

Bloody Victorians.

Who's to say what is extraordinary and what isn't?

There's clearly something going on with UFOs and greys. I haven't read Vallee but I'm aware of the various theories- that we're dealing with creatures from the inner planes or from other dimensions or even time travellers. And what are we to make of the well-attested cases where UFOs, Sasquatches and supernatural black dogs have all shown up in the same place at the same time?

In that case, I think you might enjoy Valee. His thesis is, very roughly, that the "aliens" of today were the "fairy folk" of yore, that whatever is going on has been happening for as long as mankind can collectively remember and appears to be an active attempt to influence our development towards some unknown end.

I agree. Vallee's book is excellent, and gives one to think. Whether he's right or he's wrong (and I don't intend to try to sort that one out!), he's one who goes out on a limb in a good way.

My sentiments exactly. The nice thing I think about Vallee is that he hedges his bets thoughtfully, allowing the data to speak for itself and posing more questions than answers.

Yes, I think I'd enjoy that.

Aliens certainly seem to behave very much like the faeries- abducting people and peeking through windows and causing mischief and so on...
