Annoying

Also on TV last night we had the second half of the 100 most annoying songs....you love to hate

We watched it all the way through- fools!

It must be youngsters doing the voting. OK, Millennium Prayer is annoying but not nearly as annoying as the bouncy Euro-pop of Congratulations. Oh lucky young people, never to have been exposed to early Cliff!

(Though I'll admit to having a soft spot for Summer Holiday.)

The most annoying song of all time is the Titanic Song.

Boy, but that was a controversial decision!  Americans love Celine Dion. Brits think she's weird.

But not in a fun way.

You know what? I predicted it.

Celine Dion is *not* universally loved here in the States. *g* And that song *is* hugely annoying, but I once heard an arrangement of it just for piano done by a woman in her twenties; she was studying with the same teacher as my daughter and played it at the annual recital, and it was really lovely. Go figure.

The song itself doesn't annoy me- and in the context of the film I think it's fine. As with most of these earworms the problem is over-exposure. We've just heard it too many times.

Celine is a strange person. If I could sum up what I think is wrong with her in a single phrase it's that she seems to take herself way too seriously.
