200,000 Words Later

This has been the year of purchas
I started in January- on a whim -and now- four  "books" and nearly 200,000 words later- I've just posted the final installment. The story arc is complete.

There's material for another cycle. But do I need to write it? Is there anything more to be said about this particular set of characters? 

Right now, I think I need to put the toys away in the toy box, close the lid and walk away.

I am so amazed and impressed by what you've achieved here. I was telling my Mum about you and your Purchas novels on Friday, and looked up when the purchas account had been created so that I could tell her when you'd begun, expecting it to be at least 18 months ago, maybe more like 2 years. But no - it's only just 10 months, and in that time you've churned out four extremely good novels.

I think you're right to leave it aside for now. The events of the last installment (which I won't refer to directly for the sake of spoilers!) really bring the long arc of the existing four novels to a close. But picking it up again in 6 months' time for a final polish up before you start seriously sending it out to publishers is a must - and we will keep hassling you about it until you do!

Finally, I absolutely loved the updates about each character in the epilogue. Each one just seems so right, and I especially enjoyed your playful crypticness about the Count!

I'm amazed I managed to write so much in so short a time. It was as if the characters just got hold of me and wouldn't let go.

I have ideas for a sequel. I've even written a few pages, but I feel I need to let the pressure build up again before I carry on.

Right now It feels like I'm on holiday, but I have a scratchy feeling at the back of my mind that these characters are going to haul me back in eventually and get me working for them again.
