A Glitch In The Matrix

 We have three big plastic baskets that we use for laundry- a white one, a grey one and a blue one. A couple of days ago the blue one went missing. We searched the house thoroughly- not so much because its an item of value but because it didn't make sense that it could have just disappeared.

Then yesterday evening it reappeared- not hidden, but sitting on the bed in the small back bedroom.

Like so.....



It beggars belief that we could have overlooked it.

We've had things disappear and then reappear before, but they were always small things- like pieces of jewellery- never anything as big as this.

I have two theories:

1. Some mischievous invisible entity or entities took the laundry basket and then returned it. Back in the day we'd have said "gremlins"....

2. We have just transitioned in and out of a very close parallel reality- one in which most things were the same but the basket simply didn't exist.

If you have a better suggestion please let me know.

Ever since that very influential movie came out incidents like these- which are often absurd- I mean a disappearing laundry basket of all things!- have been referred to as Glitches in the Matrix.
