BT sent a chap out to deal with our Internet problem.
I expected him to take a look, scratch his chin, then go away again- possibly with a promise that someone would contact us in the near future about sending an engineer.
Because that's what usually happens.
But I was wrong. He was the engineer. He took a look, scratched his chin and said he'd advise fixing us up with a new connection. We said that sounded like a good idea. And then, instead of going away, he called up the office and they sent out a guy with a cherry-picker- and in the course of the morning the two of them ran a new wire from the house to the telephone pole across the road- and now we have an internet connection that can be trusted not to flicker on and off.
Isn't it great when people are good at their job. And conscientious. And efficient....
