Sentimental Old Fool

 This is silly, but when the high winds- with complicating factors- like flying patio chairs- broke one of the new solar lights it upset me as much as if the light had been a living creature. These lights have lanterns attached to a stalk you stick in the ground and the two parts had come apart. They're flimsy things. I tried to join the parts with sticky stuff- first gorilla glue then double-sided tape-  but the join wouldn't hold. I haven't the heart to throw the bits away- they're resting on the kitchen table- and when evening came and the detached lamp began to glow blue then green I could have wept....
