We've taken the house off the market.

Thank goodness for that!

I was stood on the brink, arms going like windmills and then I stepped back.

I like this house. I like this neighbourhood. The thought of leaving made me utterly miserable.

I had intense, grungey dreams last night. I guess it was the tension working its way out of my system. At one point I woke with a start because someone had just thrown a dead cat at me. The cat was stiff with rigor mortis, bent in a half-moon shape.

Instead of moving we'll get a small mortgage and do this place up. New carpets. New windows. New wardobes.

I'm sure you've made the right decision. I didn't like to say anything, it not really being my business where you live, but I had wondered whether you might regret moving. You always seemed to enjoy being where you are now and you'd be leaving all your friends and neighbours and Ailz's family and have to start all over again building a social circle in the new place.

A house makeover sounds like a much better idea. I've been working on our house for a few years now, and it's starting to look quite good -- apart from the bits I haven't got to yet, of course. *g*

I think we'd have got there, enjoyed the first few weeks, then started pining to go "home".
