We've taken the house off the market.

Thank goodness for that!

I was stood on the brink, arms going like windmills and then I stepped back.

I like this house. I like this neighbourhood. The thought of leaving made me utterly miserable.

I had intense, grungey dreams last night. I guess it was the tension working its way out of my system. At one point I woke with a start because someone had just thrown a dead cat at me. The cat was stiff with rigor mortis, bent in a half-moon shape.

Instead of moving we'll get a small mortgage and do this place up. New carpets. New windows. New wardobes.

Heh. I was just wondering this morning if you were still considering moving. From what little I know I think you quite suit your house and your neighbourhood. Sheppey really is a bit of a dive and I didn't want you to be disappointed. My parents did much the same thing with thinking they wanted to move and putting their house on the market. Nobody put in an offer, and when they took the house off they suddenly realised they were so relieved no to be moving that they threw a big party.

We liked what we saw of Sheerness, but it is a backwater. We've been worrying about how cut off we might become.

We're used to urban living. And Sheerness isn't really much more than a big village.
