The self-image I carry around with me hazily approximates my appearance at around the age of 35. This I vaguely assume is how other people see me too. If I engage my brain I can replace the chimera with something closer to current reality (see last post) but as soon as the brain finds something else to engage it the old self-image steps back in and elbows the new one aside.

I think most of us are like this- which might partly explain why witless old men behave as if they were still attractive to young women,

A misapprehension that the likes of Jeffrey Epstein can easily and profitably exploit.

Talking about Epstein, I've been scanning the largely unprocessed list of names from the recent dump of court documents. It's a jumble of associates, employees, victims, people who were investigating him and allies of Virginia Giuffre. None of the "big" names comes as any surprise- and we are really no closer to knowing who he was, who he corrupted or who he served...

It's a thing though.

I'm in my late sixties and many people assume I'm in my late forties.

For myelf, I now tend to assume crone status.

In my dreams I am consistently an odd mix of my current self and then someone around 20. In the dream I know that I am not 20 but that still seems to be the age of my inner understanding of who I am.
