I told the Meeting I thought we should have a children's officer- someone who would jump up and take control of things if and when children were brought to the Meeting House.

"You volunteering?" asked the Meeting. 

"Well, no" I said- and quite honestly I wasn't.

"I was thinking it was more a job for a woman..." I continued.

And the Meeting said, "Oho" and laughed at me.

"It's just that men are more likely to be seen as dodgy..." I pleaded.

And Ailz told me to stop digging.

I like to think of my self as a sophisticated person but really I'm not.

And the upshot is it seems I'm going to be the Children's Officer.

I'd love some FDR colouring books.

We don't have any children yet- apart that is from our 9 month old grandson- but I believe that if we build up a children's section they will come...

When my father did jury duty, he said: "The first thing we need to do is to elect a foreman." And yes, you can see what comes next.

It doesn't seem a bad way of picking a children's officer / foreman...
