We've got a mess of them right about the same age ...I love the goslings and their fog grey feathers.

I guess it's camoflauge. They hardly show up against the water. I was looking at them in the viewfinder and they were all but invisible.

I believe the basin (and probably the canal it serves) was excavated by the Duke (or Earl, I forget which) of Portland.
