Dr Who: School Reunion.

I was tearing up at the end. The Doctor has an inner life and we were glimpsing it.

He's also a bit of a bastard; He loves 'em and leaves 'em. One of the great things about the Doctor- from Hartnell on- is that he's never been blandly heroic.

This was the best episode of the second season (thus far).

I still feel the episodes are too short. The bad guys aren't given long enough to establish themselves.

Tony Head's performance made me want to see him as Count Dracula. What a fine actor he is! "Pitch perfect" said the director.

I'm getting accustomed to David Tennant.

I feel like Rose does about Mickey: does he really have to come along?

I hadn't realised they were related.

According to Wikipedia, Murray is Tony's older brother. Apparently they were both played the same role in Chess. Murray created the role and Tony inherited it some way down the line.

Everybody did! Even a friend of mine who hates K-9! I didn't, but then Im a evil foreigner who likes Doctor Who but obviously doesn't get it properly.

This is something else I've heard from a lot of people, and I agree. Someone told me yesterday that episodes 5 & 6 are a two-parter, though, so we don't have to wait too much longer.

Andrew was hoping Anthony Head would be The Master, because he thinks he'd be good at it, and I agree. He has a good voice for it!

And I think I'm starting to like David Tennant, though I'd like him a lot more if they let him use his regular accent.

I don't care that much about K9, but I thought the Doctor-Rose-Sarah Jane triangle was beautifully written and acted. I was afraid Elizabeth Sladen would be out of her depth and she wasn't.

Last week's episode was classic run-of-the-mill Who. Lots of running about.

Two-parters are good.

It's time British TV found something solid for Tony Head to do. He's a terrific actor; he deserves more than these cameos he gets offered.

I'm pretty sure I've read it wasn't his choice not to be Scottish, and he was definitely excited about getting to use his own accent in Tooth And Claw. I think the producers thought that we'd already had the Scottish Doctor *sigh*

There was recently screened here a so called documentary in which the talentless, ludicrous and jaw-droppingly sycophantic Rolf Harris blathered on to Her Maj and we, the viewers as he painted her portrait, ( a pseudo impessionist mess). It was called "Rolf Meets The Queen", or some such original title.

The next day, the very clever & funny satirical comedy team here, called "the Chasers" screened another doco called "Christo meets the Queen" in which Her Maj, the throne and even a corgi were neatly, tightly wrapped in white paper despite their frantic struggles. It was a real antidote.
