Furnishing A Room

Ailz is working towards becoming a member of our Quaker Meeting while I mean to remain an attender (in practical terms there's very little difference,) She likes to make committments and I like to stand a little to one side. I have a long history of joining things and then wishing I hadn't. One of my mottos/mantras is this of Blake's. "I must create a system or be enslaved by another man's."

Not that I have a system- exactly. I have picked things up- here and there- scouring the intellectual charity shops of the world- and I'm still picking things up. They don't necessarily harmonize but- whatever- I have furnished a room...

We had thunder and lightning and heavy rain during the night. I had a dream that a child I was attached to had been hospitalised and I was weeping over it. Several people from my past turned up- at least one of them verifiably "dead"

One of the people from my past was a much younger version of my mother. Today is her birthday. She's 101. We'll be visiting her in her care home...

It took me over twenty years to take membership.

No one will rush you and if you never do, that's fine and as you say, there's really very little difference.
