By Surprise

The world's most aggressive superpower (Im afraid I mean the USA) is committed this year to spending $782 billion dollars it can't afford on defence- which is a euphemism for war. This sum doesn't include the money that is being pumped into Ukraine- even though much of it will end up in the same pockets (those of the weapons manufacturers). Nor does it include the money that goes into the black budget to develop God only knows what horrors. The other superpowers and powers have similar priorities. This state of affairs cannot be sustained indefinitely.

But how will the transition to a saner world- one in which swords get beaten into ploughshares- be achieved?

Suddenly? Slowly? Violently? Peacefully?

I can't see the people who are in charge at the moment bringing it about so I think it will be by surprise...
