Crunch!

Ailz pointed out that the back of my computer screen- with its Apple logo- was visible through the window and it might be sensible to stop tempting the neighbours. I thought it would be easy to shift the table it was on- a very heavy old dressing table of my mother's- which ran on castors- a foot to so to the left. Instead its legs gave way. A full glass of orange juice was one of the things resting on the surface- and it emptied itself over everything- including the keyboard. Momentary shock and disbelief. But no permanent damage seems to have been done. I then spent an hour clearing up the mess and taking the broken table to bits with a screwdriver and a mallet.

Time for a proper office desk, perhaps?

What I've done is fetch another table down from the attic. We have too much furniture but I hadn't envisaged getting rid of a piece quite so drastically.
