Never Glad Confident Morning Again

Wordle is one man's gift to the world- homemade, simple, unmonetized. At least, that's what is was- but now it belongs to the New York Times and they're describing it as part of their "portfolio"- and oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! I guess I'd have done the same as Mr Wardle if some chap with a big wallet had come calling and offered me a seven figure sum for the wheeze I'd worked out on the back of an envelope because ker-ching! Or would I? I'd like to think not- because my dislike of the corporate world- represented by the NYT- is bottomless...

I went to the Wordle site this morning and it still looks the same. The boys at the NYT haven't stuck their nasty logo on it yet or erected a fence and a toll booth. So long as that remains the case I'll probably go on playing- because- corporately owned or not- it remains fun.
