poliphiloThere was a lot of beeping and parping at the top of the road yesterday morning- and then it stopped- from which I conclude that the petrol station just off the roundabout had petrol and then ran out.
"It's mad out there," says this morning's carer. Three of her colleagues, one of whom is her sister, have had minor car accidents over the past few days. Not only are people clogging up the roads as they queue for petrol but their anxiety is making them drive like loons.
We filled up with petrol just before the madness began- and if we can get by on our quarter tankful until it ends we will.
It's odd how this has blown up at a time when the covid scare is finally dying down. It's almost as if someone behind the scenes has a plan to keep us fretful- and they're executing it, step by step.
