Knowing Without Knowing

I was watching a podcast about people's experiences with ayahuasca and DMT- and then doing some follow-up reading- and thinking, "Yes, that right," and "That's just how it is"- which is odd because my own experience with psychedelics is limited to one hit of LSD back in the '70s- which was interesting and a little awesome- but fell way short of the kind of things that I was hearing and reading about. No machine elves for starters. Was I remembering other things I'd read, or movies I'd seen? De Quincey? Aldous Huxley? 2001, A Space Odyssey? I don't think so. Besides which, my knowledge felt personal, not secondhand. I knew without knowing how I knew...

And we'll just have to leave it at that...
