Normally on a Tuesday we cross over the county line to go to the farm shop in Hurst Green, but under the current tier system- with Kent in tier 3 and Sussex in tier 2- that is forbidden- and- while I think the tier system is silly and doubt there are police road blocks on the A21- I'm not going to break the law without compelling reason- so we researched alternative farm shops- legal Kentish ones, that is- and settled on the one in Pluckley.

It had excellent local produce- and we spent less than usual because it was smaller and stocked less in the way of "treats" to winkle the money out of our pockets.

Then we went and looked at churches.

This is St Nicholas, Pluckley. It was locked- as churches mostly have been since the epidemic took over our lives- but there was smoke rising from the boiler room on the north side- and someone on the inside was playing "O Little Town of Bethlehem" on the organ- a little hesitantly and over and over again...

Pluckley churchyard hosts a white lady ghost and a red lady ghost. I thought I'd do a little research- and lighted on an account of Pluckley's ghosts on a site called Ghost Connections- which blows all of them to smithereens. What a pity. A basic problem with the red lady and the white lady is that no-one is on record as ever having seen them.

I love these pictures. You live in such a beautiful place.

I was so interested that I googled these stories: https://www.pluckley.net/village-life/history/ghosts/

Also: looks like you can attend a zumba-class, if you like. ;D
