The sun was shining first thing- which hasn't happened for weeks- so I adapted my morning routine and did a number of jobs that took me outside- like cleaning the cat litter tray and filling the horses' water butt- while there was still blue sky overhead.

She's fine. She lives on the high ground.

There's nothing Johnson can do- at least in the short term. Building proper flood defences will take ages. Previous governments may be to blame for neglecting the issue, but Johnson has only been in office for a month or so.
