I make a keystroke and there's a measurable pause before it takes effect. I can no longer watch video. My computer has been ailing for a long time, but I've persisted with it, telling myself I don't need speed for the kind of things I do online- and now I can't pretend any longer. I need a new one. Writing this paragraph has been laborious...
But have you seen the prices of halfway decent computers? You probably have, but I hadn't until yesterday evening. I was shocked. It dampened my spirits.
But enough of that.
Yesterday was a good day. We found a cheery little family run business dealing in disability aids- seventy year old parents who do front of house and a son who is the mechanic- and they'll overhaul Ailz's mobility scooter and supply it with new batteries. Then I went and took pictures of the medieval church in Eastbourne's Old Town. Then we returned to Chalk Farm nurseries and bought prickly plants for the front yard and two gooseberry bushes and a red currant bush.
In the afternoon my daughter rang while I was at the beach just as I was picking up a small pebble with a near-perfect circular hole through the middle. I took this conjunction as a sign that the pebble was mine to keep and I had permission to take it home with me.
I am now wearing round my neck.
My daughter has a new You tube channel where she talks about Tarot- which I'm not able to watch because see above. In the one episode I have seen she was talking about the Three of Pentacles - and how it's a card of new beginnings, of start ups and the planting of seeds- and how well it suits the present times- when so mu7ch old thinking is being challenged and cleared away. Google Alice Grist and Tarot and you'll happen upon her.
Also while I was down on the beach I took pictures of a fishing boat.

But it was only this morning, when I was editing the image, that I saw what the boat was called...
