Very Small

Marlowe was chasing something round the house yesterday- something that scurried round the walls, hiding behind or under large pieces of furniture while he dabbed ineffectively at the place where he'd seen it last. I found it this morning- a very small shrew. It had died in plain sight- on the carpet in the living room- of exhaustion or hunger or fear.
