Coming To An End
Oct. 31st, 2020 11:25 amI'm reading the Old Curiosity Shop and Ailz is listening to it being read to her by Dickens's several-times- great-grandson. I got started long before she did but she's leapfrogged me. I just took her a cup of tea upstairs.
"I said I'd come down for it," she says.
"But you didn't," I say. "And it's getting cold."
By way of explanation she nods towards the Kindle, "Chapter 69 of 73" she says. "And it's just so exciting."
And so it is.
I nearly got into a political argument with my sister yesterday. It was about Biden or possibly about Corbyn. "Don't believe the Main Stream Media," I said, "They print what their masters want them to print..." but then I pulled back before things got too heated. Politics isn't worth falling out about because politics is only shadow play. It was the great heresy of the age that is now coming to an end that we could save ourselves by changing the people at the top, whereas the truth is we can only save ourselves by changing ourselves- and once we've changed ourselves we'll have no further need of the people at the top.
Talking about ages coming to an end, it was announced today that Sean Connery had died.
