People go to Nymans for the gardens, but the house is lovely too. The original Regency mansion- described on the official website as "nondescript"- was rebuilt in Arts and Crafts style at the beginning of the 20th century. By the time fire swept through it in 1947 it had existed as a slumberous late medieval manor house for around 30 years.
