I spent a few minutes this morning watching one of those potentially endless, computer-generated films that explore the Mandelbrot set- only this dealt with a Mandelbox and the space being explored was cubic- with the shapes suggesting architecture rather than natural growth (I hope that makes sense. I don't really know what I'm talking about) and it has left me with an lingering sense of the ongoingness and infinitude of everything. This will fade; One couldn't live in the world if one's mind were permanently fixed in that key (or could one?) Ailz briefly reinforced the mood (unrelatedly- only everything is related) by reading out something she'd just stumbled across on the Net about how every time you shuffle a deck of 52 playing cards you produce a sequence that never has been and never will be duplicated in the entire history of the universe.

Here we see the two apocalyptic beasts seducing the people of the earth- represented by four kings. The figure on the left- beardless and uncrowned- and looking somewhat taken aback- has to be St John.

"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six" Rev 13: 18.
