A Thaxted Gargoyle

Simon Knott- the East Anglian churches man- reckons to visit 15 churches by bike on a good day; I've visited something like that many- by car- in three days- and I'm exhausted. I haven't sorted through my pictures yet, but here's one, chosen more or less at random. It shows one of the many gargoyles and other grotesques that adorn the exterior walls of St John's, Thaxted- one of the loveliest churches in England.
