Dream Fragment

I'm a priest- dressed in a white surplice and stole- I've already celebrated mass and for the hour to come I'll be stood at the cathedral door with a wicker basket full of stones. Individual worshippers will approach, take a stone from the basket and receive my blessing. Meanwhile roadies and lighting technicians are preparing the nave for a concert by Kylie Minogue.

European Elections

Voting is in the village hall. The people behind the desk were cheery. "That's not a British tan," said Ailz to the woman who checked us off the list.

"Actually, it is," she answered, "Bournemouth."

I won't say how I voted- but it wasn't for Nigel Farage. I only decided I was going to vote at all over breakfast this morning....
