Safe Cracking
Oct. 27th, 2017 11:36 am My father left behind a portable, fireproof safe- and no word as to where he'd hidden the key. We've been searching for it over the past week and it's amazing how many keys we have and how few of them open anything we still own. In the end I emailed the manufacturers and they told me they'd want a notarised document to prove I was the safe's legitimate owner before they'd sell me a key- so I decided to open it with a axe. It was surprisingly easy. A couple of taps and the lock no longer held.
Did it contain bundles of crisp banknotes? Actually no. It contained my father's passport, vaccination certificates for a trip he took to Aden in 1958, his birth and baptism certificates, his postwar ID card and other things of that sort. Ah well....
