Battle Abbey gatehouse

Battle Abbey has made some improvements since I was last there. For instance they've now given visitors access to the gatehouse roof- and the opportunity to get up close to these medieval characters...





I like being in high places, separated from eternity by a climbable wall. I like it even though- and perhaps because- it gives me the shakes...
