All Geared Up

My brother-in-law has a company doing tailor-made town walks- mostly round the East End, mostly featuring Late Victorian and Edwardian topics- Jack the Ripper, Titanic, Suffragettes etc.  This coming week he's doing his Charlie Chaplin walk for the first time.

Leaving The Hotel

I dreamed we were moving out of a hotel room- "we" being myself and at least three generations of my family. We'd got lots of furniture in our luggage so it was tantamount to moving house. I'd volunteered to shift it all by myself- and it was an awful job. More and more furniture kept turning up and I was worried we'd wouldn't get it all in the boot of the car.   At one point the lights went off and the door started sticking and I thought it was ghosts doing it- only in turned out to be a prank being played by two middle-aged gentlemen in matching red suits.
