Taking The Bait

Joining Isis is the sort of damn silly thing you do when your life stinks- as this true story in the Guardian explains. I became a Born-Again Christian (way back in the mists of time) for very similar reasons.  You get into a rut- and are living without grace or truth - and then someone dangles a vision of something pure and purposeful under your nose and you take the bait.

This guy was lucky. Or had enough about him to resist the indoctrination. And then he returned to tell us what it was like on the inside- which turns out to be very much as it was on the outside- but with extra layers of cruelty.
