From The Diary Of A Pyromaniac

Matthew brought us a load of wooden pallets. I've suggested in the past he should recycle them but he gave me cogent reasons- which I now forget- why that could never be. We added them to the eight foot high pile of branches from the tree he felled a fortnight ago- and I've never tended a fire that burned so fast.

Tidying Up

And this morning I've been tidying up after the tree felling. There was a hole gouged by a falling limb and I've filled it in with soil from the long-established bonfire site. Also I've raked and scattered leaves and twigs accross the new bonfire site. I hate how something like this leaves scars on the land. I want the healing to be quick.
