Desultory

That was a very hot day- a record-breaker. I watched tennis in a desultory fashion and made a fruit pie- using red currants, black currants and gooseberries out of the kitchen garden. My phone woke me in the middle of the night, pleading for a refill so I got up, plugged it in and stuck my nose out the front door to see if it were raining yet- only it wasn't. Rain is, however, forecast for later today and really I'll be rather pleased to see it.
