Harold Ramis RIP

We love comedy but we also under-rate it- as if something that makes us laugh can't possibly be as important as something that makes us wince. No-one mentions Harold Ramis in the same breath as Scorsese or Coppola, but I'll bet Groundhog Day lasts every bit as long as Taxi Driver and Apocalypse Now. 

An Obvious Inconsistency

They've been telling us for years now that the only way to fix the economy is to practice austerity and cut the welfare state to the bone and now here's Mr Cameron saying money's no object when it comes to sorting out the winter floods and then offering huge sums to the insurgents in Ukraine.

Does he think we can't put two and two together?
