Stepping Down From The Modern World

We got rid of our TV. We advertised it on Freecycle and it was gone the same evening. A pleasant young couple from a few streets away walked over and took it. The young man carried it off in his arms.

Will we replace it? Maybe, but not yet.

And why did we do it?  Because silence is golden. Because we'd both rather read books. Because living at my mother's I'm sick of having the hairy bikers roaring at me from the corner of the room, because the BBC pays its managers way too much...

A Plus- Or Is It A Minus?

Something we don't get at my mother's: People telling one another to "fuck off" in the street in the middle of the night.

Because there isn't a street.
