Xmas Blues
Dec. 23rd, 2005 12:01 pmOK. I've had enough. The Solstice was two days ago. Let's not do this any more.
I hate it how corporate it is- how we're all expected to be doing the same things at the same times, feeling the same emotions.
But there's no getting off the ride. We know exactly what to expect; those chugging climbs, those swooping falls. The little train has started off. The safety bar is locked in place.

Date: 2005-12-23 06:45 am (UTC)(Well, actually, it's going to be pretty moderate)
But the fire is so delightful
(Radiator, electric heater, gas stove, MD 20/20, whatever)
And since we've no place to go
(Homeless, broke, just murdered a family member from stress)
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
(I already said the weather is moderate so let's don't and say it did)
It doesn't show signs of stopping
(The crass commercialism, the traffic, the pushing and shoving, the chia pets)
And I've brought some corn for popping
(Corn, corny, like this song)
The lights are turned way down low
(So drunk smelly Aunt Mildred thinks we've gone away for the holiday)
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
(GOTO line 8)
When we finally kiss goodnight
(Which is more sex than in Brokeback Mountain)
How I'll hate going out in the storm
(The storm of overdue bills, repo men, and re-gifting)
But if you'll really hold me tight
(But not there or you'll be on Judge Judy so fast your head will spin)
All the way home I'll be warm
(Because I'll have your wallet, cash, credit cards, and maybe your social security number. So it's free plane tickets to Nassau)
The fire is slowly dying
(My holiday spirit died in February... of 1982)
And my dear, we're still goodbye-ing
(You just don't know when to shut up, do you.)
But as long as you love me so
(Me love you long time, sailor. We take American Express. You want shiatsu?)
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it effin' snoooooooow!!
(Bastards)
