I have a love-hate relationship with Manchester United. I hate them for being a soulless, money-making machine but- because they're the local boys- I'm kinda proud of their history and international fame.

This season they're slipping in the table and have allowed themselves to be beaten by lesser teams. This makes me happy. But when they beat Abramovitch's Chelsea the other day- ending Chelsea's unbeaten run of 40 games- I was happy too. I guess I just like seeing hubris brought down.

Anybody's hubris.

Well, I'm a Mancunian by adoption, so I have to favour Man U over Liverpool- but my partisanship is pretty tepid. The over-arching truth is I've never cared very much for football.

Oh, I don't care too much about it either; only the odd big L'pool game or if the Danish national team is in the European or World Cup. (We're not in the 2006 World Cup... which is actually okay by me; I find myself getting far too agitated and stressed on the few occasions when I actually bother to follow a football match!)

Following sports is so time consuming. I limit myself, pretty much, to Wimbledon fortnight and following the England cricket team.
