Strutting My Stuff
Apr. 25th, 2018 10:11 am Ailz had her eyes tested yesterday; I should have had my eyes tested too, because I think I need new glasses, but I'm not yet ready to give up the ones with the strawberry pink frames.
Ailz's new glasses (two pairs) will be pink and blue. If you have to wear face furniture you should make a thing of it- and choose the brightest colours available.
As I younger person I lacked confidence and did my best to merge into the scenery: sober colours, casual wear but nothing that raised its voice above a murmur. But I'm through with that now and I'm going out with a bang. I've grown my hair- and if I'm out for the day I wear bracelets and medallions. What I want now is a coat of many colours.

Mine include a pair with grape juice purple frames with a couple of rhinestone studs each on the earpieces, and another pair with cat-eye frames (beige, alas) with a design of flowers and leaves painted on them, and a third pair --- my high-mag ones for cross-stitch --- that are a psychedelic flower design in a clear plastic matrix. I do have some plain metal-framed ones for traveling, but I like the fancy ones a lot more.

Date: 2018-04-26 07:47 am (UTC)It was a bit frustrating going round the opticians the other day. Most of the frames they had on offer were terribly sober. You had to look hard to spot the one or two that were a bit lively.
