I didn't mention this before, what with everything else that was going on, but we acquired a rabbit and a guinea pig last week. Joe had been talking about getting a snake or a rottweiler and I figured we should head him off at the pass.

I was thinking small animals would be low maintenance. I was wrong.

The rabbit is Toshiro Mifunny the Bunny (aka Fluffbucket) and the guineapig is Mulan

I've been finding out for myself....

It seems rabbits will try knibbling anything once...

or twice...or three times....

In my experience, the tropism for electrical cords can be lifelong. One particularly industrious lagomorph of my acquaintance was also wont to chew the wrapping paper off one corner each of every present under the Christmas tree. Must have been curious. For whatever reason, approved chewing sticks/blocks/whatever are never as appealing as whatever would be most annoying or destructive to put iddy rabbit chewmarks into. But they are awfully cute. Let this be your mantra.

Ailz was just wondering about the Christmas tree. We have an artificial one. Two questions. (1) Will he eat it? (actually I think I know the answer to that. And (2) Will he enjoy it if he does?
