Black Friday is now a thing in Britain, even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. This morning I've had spam emails urging me to go out and buy, buy, buy... and been asked- in a newspaper article I didn't read beyond the headline- how we can avoid being caught up in the madness. Well, the last one's easy. You get your rowers to stop their ears with beeswax and have yourself tied to the mast.

There are now plenty of business folks asking what the point of having a 'sale' (which it isn't) in the midst of the busiest shopping time of the year really is.

I suppose it makes sense in America where they'll have lots of cranberries to shift after the holiday.
