They're saying Hillary Clinton may have a drink problem. Well, perhaps she does, but I don't think we need reach for the bottle to explain why a woman nearing seventy might wilt after standing in the sun for an hour and a half and sometimes have trouble with stairs. Would you expect your granny- or your grandpa- to submit themselves to the merciless treadmill of a US election campaign? Of course not. You'd be afraid of it killing them.

I'm a couple of years younger that Clinton and four years younger than Donald Trump- and I really don't know how they keep going at the pace they do.

Why do they do it to themselves? I can only think it's because power and fame are addictions and they can't stop themselves wanting more. They're like gamblers stood in front of a whizzing, whirring, flash-bulb popping fruit machine. Just one more pull of the lever. Just one more...

Whether these needy, mad, old crows are the sort of people one wants to have running one's country is a question the media is mainly too polite to ask...

They barely had to do with manual labor and dirty work, that's their secret.
People which stood in dirt for decades, they sometimes already have their serious health problems when 50 stands on the age counter.

I guess it's a long time since either of them had to carry their own suitcase.

They never had to do hard manual labour for a start.

Both of them are so... I don't know. Obama is still younger but he seems to have had enough. Trump is in it for the long game, he was picking away at Obama with his "not American" "birther" stuff years ago.

Trump is like a more horrible version of Rob Ford. At least Rob Ford was kind of an uneducated bumpkin, Trump seems like a mild psychopath. The US will be screwed if he takes power.

Neither have I, but I'm in my mid 60s and weary.

They say anyone can become President- which means they had something like three hundred million people to choose from- and who do they come up with?

Clinton, the charmless Washington insider and Trump, the pig-ignorant celeb.

Could they really not have found anyone better?

Given the intense scrutiny that the candidates endure, I think the people best suited for the job are also the clear-headed ones who don't wish to be a part of it. They decide to stay in their lower-profile positions and do their best work under less-harsh spotlights.

They do say that the people who seek high office are the last people who should have it.

Well, just about that. Too many water carriers.

It would be more than overdue to have one of these big capital dudes with that happening in public that all his money can't buy him endless good health or eternal life.
Just only to lay down proof of that, visible for all.

As someone once said to me, I think you've hit the nail too hard on the head.
