St Laurence, Catsfield- And Annie Brassey

The churchyard has been allowed to run wild and is full of large daisies. It's a very peaceful place.
.This is a memorial to Annie, Lady Brassey- writer and traveller- who died and was buried at sea in 1887. Many items from her collection of curiosities and artworks can be seen in the museums at Hastings and Bexhill.

Date: 2016-06-07 11:15 am (UTC)Have you ever visited Nunhead Cemetery in London? It has become a Nature Reserve except for a small portion they still use for burials. It's quite the interesting place.
Lady Brassey must have been an interesting woman.
