The churchyard has been allowed to run wild and is full of large daisies. It's a very peaceful place.

This is a memorial to Annie, Lady Brassey- writer and traveller- who died and was buried at sea in 1887. Many items from her collection of curiosities and artworks can be seen in the museums at Hastings and Bexhill.

I love a graveyard gone back to Nature. As it should do.
Have you ever visited Nunhead Cemetery in London? It has become a Nature Reserve except for a small portion they still use for burials. It's quite the interesting place.

Lady Brassey must have been an interesting woman.

No, I've never been to Nunhead.

Brassey wrote about her travels- and her books were very popular at the time. I mean to read them some day
