Unusual Activity

Earlier today a fighter plane roared over the house- so low I feared for the ridge tiles. A few hours later a military transport helicopter went chugging by.

Is there something going on we don't know about?

I think since the Ukraine issue I have seen more Eurofighter planes flying by since all of the other years before. But I could also be mistaken.

The last time we saw unusual military activity in our Kentish skies was when a Russian plane verred away from its approved flight path.

Russia Today's German division released an article not that long ago that allegedly some train drivers working for Deutsche Bahn worry about all that military equipment and especially vehicles they already had to ship to Eastern Europe this year. Normally the convoys by railroad aren't even half of a dozen in numbers a year, but this one they allegedly already had more than a dozen - and it leaves them thinking what the hell does anyone need all that equipment for. Just for training seems a little odd.

There is definitely something going on. A Google+ friend who lives just a little way to the north of me has seen a lot of military helicopter activity in his vicinity. But we haven't had extra jets, so it may be nothing. There are combined training operations every so often which don't always result in actual combat missions.

We get a lot of military choppers here anyway as we're the HQ town of the Royal Engineers.

No jets though.
