Barcelona!

And, yes, we did a drive-by of some of the famous buildings by Antonio Gaudi. He's interesting, but I'm not a fan.I think he's only one step away from Disneyland.

And I don't like his religiosity.

We spent the afternoon at the Picasso Museum. I love Picasso. The museum contains a unique collection of his juvenilia- scratchy landscapes painted on the lids of cigar boxes, that sort of thing- and some stunning examples of his later work, including an overwhelming sequence of paintings from 1957 in which he measures himself against Velasquez's masterpiece, Las Meninas.

To be continued...

You know, I'm not entirely sure. We were following our guide who was taking us to see the remains of the temple of the Divine Augustus. We went into this dark passage, and then we passed through a tiny square courtyard, no more than a couple of paces across, which was open to the sky. I looked up and this is what I saw. I liked it enough to shoot this image and then I had to hurry on and join the rest of the party. I think those dark shapes in the walls are shuttered windows, but I haven't a clue what lies behind them.
