An Afternoon In Eastbourne

poliphiloWednesday was the hottest day so far this year- with the local temperature topping that in Athens, Rome and Istanbul. Yesterday was cloudier but still warm so we set off for Eastborne without coats or sweaters- forgetting there'd be a cold breeze coming in off the sea.
Last time we were there, at the back end of last year, they were still demolishing the fire-damaged buildings on the pier. Now they've begun the reconstruction. You can watch whats going on through portholes in the hoardings.
