Sorenr Tagged Me
May. 15th, 2005 11:04 amI knew someone would tag me for this one sooner or later. I was kinda dreading/longing for it
1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
139
2) The last film I bought:
Ai No Corrida
Au Hasard Balthasar
M. Verdoux
There's this new shop in town which sells interesting titles at an equally interesting discount. I'm greedy. Show me a rack of DVDs and I'l fill my basket.
3) The last film I watched:
M. Verdoux. I wrote a review a few days back.
4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
I don't tend to watch films over and over. There's too much out there I haven't yet seen....
Winter Light. I love Bergman and this is his most nearly perfect film.
Being There. I must get this on DVD. Peter Sellers gives the greatest performance of his career/in cinema history.
Akira Kurosawa's Dreams. Not Kurosawa's greatest film. It's much too uneven. But parts of it are heartbreakingly beautiful.
A Canterbury Tale. A really peculiar, wartime uplift film from Powell and Pressburger. It explains why we had to fight- and win- WWII. The climax, in which dreams come true, brings tears to my eyes.
La Dolce Vita. Everyone remembers Anita Ekberg cavorting in the Trevi fountain, but there's much, much more to it than that....
5)Tag 5 people and have them put this in their journal:

Date: 2005-05-15 09:00 am (UTC)I also particularly like the all night party at the castle.
And the ending, with the strange fish and the restaurant girl making her second appearance, is magnificent.
