One of the great things about living at the end of a long dark drive in the depths of the country is that the trick or treaters are more afraid of you than you are of them.
I'm very disappointed with the number of trick-or-treaters here. Only one set so far (a mum with two kids), but on the plus side they seemed to find me scary, since I've donned full tweeds - including hat - for the evening, and the apartment is lit only by candles (and the TV and the laptop).
(I'm ridiculously pleased with my pumpkin, though the tree became much slimmer than intended and doesn't really look like Ygdrasil at all.)
But since there's so little content in my life I grasped at the chance to do something creative and have some fun with it. I spent 3 hours searching for inspiration on-line and sketching out various concepts before settling on the tree. I wanted something Danish, so either the crest of the city of Copenhagen (too many straight lines for me to pull off) or the map of Denmark (too important to get details right) or Ygdrasil. And since nobody has seen Ygdrasil it seemed the best choice for a beginner.
(And let's face it; I knew you'd like a pagan symbol, which is why I posted the picture here.)
