poliphiloYesterday morning we were in Romsey. It has another great Romanesque church, This one used to belong to an order of nuns. People say you can't build high using the rounded arch; what nonsense!
Meet the Barbes. They're lifesize and slightly disconcerting...
We had morning tea- and ice cream in King John's house. It isn't really King John's house- as it dates from something like 40 years after his reign.
We had thought of going on to Winchester in he afternoon- more churches, more monuments- but we were wilting- so we ate a pic-nic lunch in the New Forest and then went back to the hotel to watch Serena Williams get bumped out of Wimbledon by Alize Cornet.
And today we return to Kent....
