Wasps

Ailz drew the curtains this morning and a wasp flew straight into the bedroom. I wafted it out again. Another had secreted itself in my mother's bedroom slipper and stung her as she was getting up.

Poor thing. There it was- all snug and warm in the fluffy slipper and then someone trod on it....

I have to admit that I've only ever been stung by wasps in self-defence. Of course it was often their stupidity in not taking care where they landed -- for example on my sandal under the arch of my foot! -- that led to me inadvertently starting to squash them. :(

Exactly. It's not as if they go looking for trouble.
